Attackers tampered with AOMEI Backupper update servers to deliver a backdoor. Between May and July 2026, bad actors altered files for five to ten minutes so programs checking updates downloaded malicious code. No vulnerability existed, yet any installed copy running during those windows executed the backdoor.
